At first, I thought this was a real winner. I loved the folding techniques and was happy with the patterns. I followed all directions and the colors were a vibrant, rich blue. Unfortunately, once I dried (with heat as directed) then washed the fabric, all of the blue washed out. Some of my designs turned purple while some disappeared completely. I've tie-dyed for years, and this is my first experience with dye running/fading so badly. Very disappointed and will not purchase again. I really enjoyed this kit, the directions were clear, well written and very easy to follow. The kit comes with everything you need for this project, directions, gloves, dye, and cotton square scarf. Note - I thought it was a rectangular scarf in the picture , it is folded in half. It states this is for adults but I think you could easily do this with older kids, it was not messy at all. My project did not turn out as expected, I think my material was too damp and I ended up with more of a light blue tie-dye instead of the vivid indigo I was hoping for.
