Review: Great product - Excellent product, thin, light, fast, reads/write everything. Probably a bit noisy but considering dimensions it's expected. I use this to write new disks but also to validate used 4K UHD blu rays without the need to watch them on TV (I use ImgBurn to validate). It's quicker in case you buy many used movies and can't watch all of them in a short amount of time :) ## Features - 4K 3D Blu-Ray disc Support: Enjoy Full UHD movies at home with 1080p video resolution, pristine sound and enhanced interactive features - BDXL Support: Reads and writes three-layer BDXL-R/BDXL RE discs (100 GB capacity) and quad-layer BDXL-R discs (128 GB capacity) with fast SATA connection - M-DISC Support: M-Discs have been tested and proven to outlast standard DVD's, offering superior data protection with greater longevity for photos, videos and data files - Silent Play Technology: Helps reduce noise during playback by adjusting the playback speed to the optimal performance for different multimedia - 6x UHD BD-R/-R DL/-ROM/BDXL and M-DISC read speed, 6x BD-R/-R DL write speed ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B071CPRK74 | | Additional Features | Ultra-thin 9.5mm interior | | Best Sellers Rank | #99,755 in Computers ( See Top 100 in Computers ) #6 in Internal Blu-ray Drives #12 in Internal CD & DVD Drives | | Brand | LG | | Built-In Media | 1 x LG Hitachi BU40N Internal UHD Blu-Ray/DVD Drive | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 4 | | Compatible Devices | Laptops and desktop PCs that use SATA 1.5 GB interface and compatible Windows operating systems. | | Connectivity Technology | Serial ATA | | Customer Package Type | Frustration-Free Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 720 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 1 Gigabits Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 100 GB | | Form Factor | Slim | | Global Trade Identification Number | 08809484671032 | | Hardware Interface | SATA 1.5 Gb/s | | Hardware Platform | Laptop, PC | | Hardware interface | SATA 1.5 Gb/s | | Hardware platform | Laptop, PC | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 12.8L x 1W x 12.7H centimeters | | Item Weight | 0.16 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | LG | | Media Speed | 6x | | Mfr Part Number | BU40N | | Model Name | Hitachi-LG BU40N | | Model Number | BU40N.ARAA10B | | Operating System | Windows 10 | | Optical Storage Read Speed | 6x or higher | | Optical Storage Write Speed | 6x | | Optical storage reading speed | 6x or higher | | Optical storage writing speed | 6x | | Read Speed | 216 Megabytes Per Second | | Special features | Ultra-thin 9.5mm interior | | Specific Uses For Product | Home Entertainment, Data Storage, Professional Use | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** LG - **Hardware interface:** SATA 1.5 Gb/s - **Optical storage reading speed:** 6x or higher - **Optical storage writing speed:** 6x - **Special features:** Ultra-thin 9.5mm interior ## Images ![LG Ultra-Slim Internal Blu-ray BD-RW BU40N - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51dWGm8ID0L.jpg) ![LG Ultra-Slim Internal Blu-ray BD-RW BU40N - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/819xu9oe9iL.jpg) ![LG Ultra-Slim Internal Blu-ray BD-RW BU40N - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91EW97Q3YEL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Le stockage optique c'est le bonheur pour les anthropologues *by M***E on 18 April 2026* Fonctionnellement, gravure/lecture de données sur BD-R sans soucis. (Produktion aus März 2026, Firmware 1.05) Das Gerät funktioniert wunderbar.
