## Description

From the Manufacturer Swiss Army Knife, Evolution, designed to fit the contours of the human hand for a firmer and safer grip

Review: Awesome quality as expected from Wenger - This a great Every Day Carry (EDC) knife/ multi-tool. I have a Victornox equivalent of this knife. But the S52 features a locking blade which is a major plus for me. Also I am more accustomed to the can opener of the Wenger knives. Ideally I would love to carry a leatherman with me at all times, but they do tend to take up too much pocket space. On a side note, I have noticed that I get less of the "Sharp-edge danger" look from people ( mostly strangers), who might see me using this knife. I mean, I'm sure you have gotten a stare like that too, if you carry and used a knife regularly. You might be minding your business and say tying down a Christmas tree or whatever to the roof of your car with twine. Then you pull out a blade to cut the extra cord and now you have someone in the next row of cars giving you a glaring stare. Luckily I have noticed that this knife does not tend to attracted that type of a stare. While it still offers a solid lock-up and sports a great edge. This might be in part due to the fact that a lot of people are familiar with the iconic "Swiss Army Knife" red scales. I have done a more in-dept review and comparison of this knife on YouTube. If you are interested you may find it there.
Review: Probably too big for pocket carry -- it's a mini-toolkit, but darn good! - This is probably too large and heavy to carry every day in a pants pocket, but may work well in a coat pocket or belt sheath. It's a lot of knife. I haven't used it very much yet, but it is, like my other Wenger knife, well-made: all of the tools snap open and closed with smoothness and authority, the blade is sharp, the scissors cut well, the saw is wicked sharp, etc. The best feature, and the reason I chose this over a comparable Victorinox, is that this has a locking blade -- not essential, but I like it for a small added margin of safety. The only drawback I can find is that the pliers are a bit flimsy and probably only of use for very small tasks - but that is what I expected in a Swiss Army Knife pliers, so I won't reduce the score for that. Additionally, it's a tiny bit tricky to extract the scissors because the blade lock button is in the way - but once you get the hang of it, it's not a big issue -- will just take an extra half-second. These are all things that I expected in such a well-equipped SAK. One of these is no substitute for a toolkit, but is rather intended for small everyday tasks that won't send you scurrying off to the basement. For that purpose, this is a great knife. For an EDC, look to something smaller such as the Wenger Evo S10, which is half the size and has most of the important tools. I'm not sure why many people prefer Victorinox for SAKs. I have some of each brand, and the Wengers are every bit as good - and if you want a locking blade in a smaller knife like this, Wenger is the only option! Edit: I am knocking one star off the review because, after using the knife for a few weeks, it seems to me that Wenger could have placed the scissors further from the blade lock button -- could have moved it over a layer or two -- and hence made it easier to access the scissor. But that is really the only design flaw that I have found with this knife.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice!
*by W***R on March 3, 2014*

This particular model has everything on it that is of use for a bug out bag. Add a multitool and a Shard and should have most situations covered. The pliers are nimble enough to use as tweezers with some extra grip. Little on the bulky side for pocket carry but in a nice sling bag like a Maxpedition makes a welcome addition.
