Used a lot in Indian cuisine for taste and color. One must be careful what utensil one is using when cooking with Turmeric because it may change its color almost forever.Turmeric is used for health, check online and you will see many medicinal virtues attributed to it. I do sometimes prepare the golden tea with some of it, milk and honey and drink it that way to get healthy.It is almost considered as a cure-all spice that should be consumed with little restriction, apart for the taste that can overpower other foods.It is also noted that in order to assimilate the turmeric in an effective way, it must be ingested with black pepper to activate it.So why should we be taking Turmeric caplets when it is readily available as a powder form and found in pretty much any food store?Here is why:- Because it is easy to take as a caplet. Taking it in food is fine but it can be messy and hard to dose.- Because it must be eaten with food when under powder form. Not all recipes are compatible with it.- Because it comes with the black pepper extract already.- Because the tablet is composed of 95% curcuminoids- Because one tablet means that you are ingesting 500mg of wells sourced Turmeric.- It apparently helps losing weight when combined with caffeine (Each tablet contains 100mg of caffeine extract) and some moderate food intake (blah-blah-blah). I added the “blah-blah-blah” because the recurrent criteria for weight loss in any food supplement is to eat less… So I consider it a very easy claim to make that Turmeric + Coffee will make you lose weight if you eat less since the main reason for the weight loss will be the “eat less” part.In consequence,Yes, I do recommend taking it under the form of tablets, unless if you eat mainly foods already containing it. 4 stars (minus one for the weight loss claims that irritated me). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as well as higher doses *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on 29 April 2019* My husband loves this supplement. He was skeptical because the dosage is a lot lower than his other brands. The other brands he was taking 1500 in the morning and in the evening. This brand is 500 mg. And he says it is as good as the 1500 mg. He can tell a difference when he doesn't have this supplement because he hands hurt and swell. This brand does it at a lower dosage which is always a good thing. It's a wonderful spice. I also love the idea of the benefits of turmeric--they sound great.So, wherever you are on the spectrum, I do recommend these as a fine way to get your extra boost of tumeric. They're large-ish pills, but not unpleasantly so, and I found them easy to swallow.
