It arrived with broken hairs, and after rosining for an hour, it still barely makes a sound except with a lot of pressure. My old bow needs barely a touch on the strings to sing. I very much suspect that the hair is nylon, not horsehair. I took one of the broken strings and put it in a flame. Not a whiff of burning hair. I see that someone suggested sand paper.
