My son has both! **Q: Does the ladder stay on well?** A: The ladder stays on just fine! The bucket at the top of the ladder falls off pretty easily, though, if your child is rough with it. It also goes back on easily, too (but parental help might be needed for that). Our 4 1/2 year old boy is pretty rough with this toy, but the toy can handle it. We just removed the bucket from the top of the ladder. (There are also some other small parts that come off a bit too easily for small hands - like the face shields on the helmets.
