Review: The Answer To So Many Problems Concerning Carpets And Tape - This stuff is amazing. I purchased it due to its claimed removable quality and because of the generally very positive reviews. I was tired of my Roomba battling with and twisting up my light rugs and cowhide on my hardwood floors, and this stuff has been great to work with considering the cowhide's irregular shape and the natural leather backing that the tape has to adhere to. The carpets seem to come off of the wood and ceramic flooring (with some work, which is what you want) without leaving residue at all for repositioning. I imagine this will hold true after several months as well but I will update if I am proved wrong. For those that are complaining about difficulties cutting with scissors and peeling off the backing, I do not recommend this technique. Take a cue from the packaging which says "easy to tear" and tear it. The tape itself is easier to rip than duct tape and generally tears clean and straight, ripping the backing paper irregularly along the same break. This is good because this creates a paper lip which makes the backing very easy to remove. I just ordered another roll for the future "just in case" following this experience.

**Q: Can this tape be used on poly finished wood stairs? My concern is whether, upon removal, the finish will be damaged. Thanks**

Just make sure that the floor is clean and dust free before the application of the carpet tape. **Q: I need a double sided tape that I can use in my high heels to keep them from falling off all the time.  The tape would go over nyloms.  Would it work?**

A: No it will not harm your carpet.

**Q: can this tape be safely used on hardwood floors with polyurethane?**
A: I used it on an old polyurethane factory finish engineered laminated wood floor.  After 1 week I removed it, and it left faint lines where removed, best noticed as a shinier line than the rest of the floor where no tape used..  I think it strips off some of the finish as you can feel a lip with your fingernail. It does not leave a residual film.  Not saying it is a complaint. Just something to be aware of.  It sticks very well.

Works well to hold carpets in place and even attach objects to a wall. It's that strong. Cutting it can get tricky because of how sticky it is. Word of caution, don't use this on wood floors, it can damage it.
