Being cast iron you can heat it till it's really smokin' before dropping on the meat, so it's like having a barbecue in the kitchen. Nice and heavy (may not be good for those that want something light and easy to clean/store away), has thick griddle lines, and was easy to season. (To season it - I followed the instructions before first use- oiled it up, put it in the oven, Gas mark 4, for 45 minutes, left it in there overnight to cool). This was the only pan I could find on desertcart that was good quality and had a lid. Decent price too.
