## Questions & Answers

**Q: What gauge is the wire?**
A: I just got two sets of these test leads and cut one open to measure the wire gauge.  They are 16 gauge which corresponds to the manufacturer's 15 amp rated capacity specification.  These are quality test leads.

**Q: Power rating?  they say 1500v at 15a.... that would make them able to handle 22,500 watts.  are there real number fo.r this test lead?**
A: You have to realize that the voltage rating is only an insulation value. It’s the current handling (15A) that counts here. But if you insist on acting as an electrical engineer then yes, the leads are theoretically capable of 15*1500 or 22,500 watts. That could be exciting.

**Q: The type of insulation isn’t mentioned. Is it vinyl or silicone?**
A: I bought them and it feels like silicone.  Very soft and flexible, with no "memory" of being rolled up and such.  I'm happy with them.

**Q: Can anyone vouch for these really being copper clips?  i've only seen sets like this in plated-steel, and they don't last.**
A: a magnet will not attract the clips, I don't know if there copper.
