Review: For long straight cuts, this is a real wrist-saver! - I needed to replace the fascia on a manufactured home. Because the dimensions were not the standard 6 or 8 inches, I had to do some 16-foot cuts down the length of the aluminum fascia so it would slip under the drip edge and sit flush with the vinyl soffit. My 64-year-old wrists were not going to enjoy that, so I figured that for the price, this was worth a shot. Boy, am I impressed. The tool fit onto my Porter Cable drill and functioned with no problems, and it literally took less than a minute per piece to cut the entire length. Since this only leaves one flat edge, I kept the scrap side to my right. It cut the aluminum like butter, and the remaining cut edge was perfect. I also used this to cut 12-inch holes in a plenum to add some cold air returns, and it worked great. The jaws do not open very far, so going over corners and bends is not so great. It also takes some effort to cut across a seam. It is not a cure-all, but for the price it is a great tool to have in your arsenal. One of the pins on the clamp fits into a screw hole in the base of the drill, but the clamp just tightens onto the base and doesn't slip off. No modification necessary. I use it for cutting polycarbonate and vinyl plastic sheet. **Q: Can it cut through angle iron, and a garage door track?** A: Itsmat the most it will cut is 18 gauge sheet metal **Q: Will it cut circles?** A: Yes they cut circles. Tool works great! **Q: I have to install vents on a shipping container. Will this tool cut it? I’ll make pilot holes with a drill bit then this tool.** A: I'm not sure but the metal may be too thick. The jaws would need a big hole to get in to begin to cut it just to start a cut. Yes, and it can work well, especially on lighter gauge sheet metal. What I found frustrating was the arm which keeps the tool in position when fitted into an impact driver or drill. It's cumbersome, doesn't always stay connected, and you have pretty limited options in terms of what this will properly work with.
