So print, cut to size, peel backing, then place the protective paper, or parchment paper, or even Teflon sheet over the image and iron. I found the Teflon is great if you have issues with it being hot enough, as it reflects/retains the heat, trapping it with the image. If you are interested in those I bought, 3 Pack PTFE Teflon Sheet for Heat Press Transfer Sheet Non Stick 16 x 20" . Can be cut to desired size. Otherwise regular parchment paper from a bakery section of a grocery store, or here on amazon, is a perfect inexpensive cover.
