It has one front leg, 2 back legs, so wouldn’t want to test too much leaning. The back of the toilet is removable. It is a lid, not a back support. There are port-a-johns liberally spread throughout the campsite, but there's usually at least a short walk from my tent to the nearest facility. Not a problem during the day, but I usually have to get up at least once a night...sometimes with some urgency. A friend purchased one of these a few years ago and sang its praises, so I decided to make the investment before 2015's event. Let me tell you, it's the best investment I've made in my camping gear! It was so nice to be able to get up in the middle of the night, not have to fumble around for a robe and a flashlight, stumble over the grass and gravel, and finally make my way to the port-a-john. Since I wasn't up as long, fumbling around as much, it was so much easier to get back to sleep once I was done with "my business." As another reviewer mentioned, the bags come with sheets of cheap-ish toilet paper and a hand-wipe packet. I kept a couple of rolls of toilet paper in my tent, so I didn't use the TP sheets included. The Cleanwaste Toilet is sturdy; I'm a plus-sized gal and I was comfortable sitting on it...no worries about it collapsing under me. I changed out the waste bags each morning, and they were very sanitary and easy to use. No smells in my tent. The unit is very easy to transport and isn't heavy. Now that I have the unit, I'll just have to purchase a new box of bags each summer, and I'm good to go! (No pun intended.
