### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great heater!
*by B***G on January 26, 2014*

I bought this heater to add some well needed heat for my Dodge Ram 1500. I've had heat issues for several years with my truck and instead of spending thousands of dollars at the Dodge dealership "exploring" the potential problems I thought I would try a cab heater. This little machine is worth every penny, I live in N.Ontario and our winters are brutal and this thing puts out heat fast and hot. So far, I've had no problems with the heater except a blown fuse, that's it.

Had to send it back because the fan failed right out of the box. Took about 3 weeks to get a replacement. It works pretty well but draws one heck of a lot of amps. Not real sure I would buy it again.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extremely indept review.
*by J***E on December 25, 2013*

Let's see. Where to start. Ok. This 12v heater claims to put out 10020 btu's. I would have to say that it's half that at best. If I had to guess. It's more like 4000 btu's. On high. On low. I'd say it's about 1200 btu's. My saying this is because when compared to the single propane canister Mr Buddy heater that is 4000/9000 btu's. The 12v heater on high only feels like the Mr buddy on low. When used to heat the same sqft. I bought this 12v heater thinking I could use it's 10020 btu's to heat the cab of my Durango, like I did with the Mr Buddy heater. I'm sure the 24v one they offer that is supoto put out 20000 btu's would be more like the Mr Buddy heater. And do a far better job of heating my cab. But as it stands. The btu's are not as they advertise.I do get to test this quite regularly during the winter. So far. The closest day I've tested it on was a -10 degree cloudy day. And all the temps on up to +50 degrees. Cloudy and sunny days. 3 months, 5 days a week, for 5 hours aday. That's how long I've been testing it for.Now the positives. When used to heat a much smaller space, like the space of 5-10sqft. Or under a blanket that your covered up in. It works great. Since it can't heat the hole cab like I want it to. I've resorted to having it down by my feet and my hole body under a twin sized blanket with it blowing heat in the blanket, even recycling that same heat. Under that blanket. It's an easy 85 degrees. It's quite warm. And comfortable. If you have bare skin within a foot of that heater, it gets hot enough to make you move your legs.Now. A little on the tech of it. A few things that weren't mentioned in most discriptions. It's wireing for starters has to be a min of 8 gauge and no longer than 7feet total length. Including the fuse. This is because. With this kind of heater it has a huge 50 amp an hour draw. The longer the wire. The higher the draw. A 7ft 8 gauge wire will add a 4% increase in draw on the battery. You can cut that inhalf by using 4gauge wire at the same length. Now 4% dosent sound like much. That would rase it to 52 amps an hour instead of 50. But once you take in your battery storage or battery capacity amp hours. That will add up fast. What's more is regular lead acid battery's only hold about 80% of what they say they do. So a 100 amp hour battery will really only hold about 80 amp hours. Now. There are lots of variables that go into battery's. Room temp makes a huge difference. I've found that the colder it gets the better a battery holds it's charge. Now. The colder it gets when you start to drain the battery. It drains faster. It's rather odd. They hold a charge the best in the cold. But drain the fastest in the cold. So. The best temp for a battery would be from 30-70 degrees. There even ok from 10-30 degrees. But once you start going colder than that. The battery's start to expend energy much faster.Tested examples.3 battery's x 110 amp hour marine battery type. Lead acid.12v heater listed above @ 50 amps an hour. Using the 7ft 8 gauge wire.Tested at 2hours 30 mins run time30-50 degree temps.Battery bank drained to 80%10-30 degree temps.Battery bank drained to 60-65%0-10 degree temps.Battery bank drained to 55%-10-0 degree temps.Battery bank drained to 45-50%As you can see. The battery bank size never changed. Nor the heater. Or run time. The only thing that changed. Was the out side temp. When choosing heaters like this. Many things comes into account. Each recharge of the battery's was done with an automatic smart 0-15 amp deep cycle battery charger. It's the same kind of tech that's used to charge your cell phones. Rapid charge when it's low. And backs off on the charge as the battery's charge lvl rises. Until it's fully charged.Over all. I love this heater. And I would love to experiment with the company's largest one. I would definitely Buy another one. Love it. Very happy.
