(Do not let it touch the other connection that must run to the gauge.)If you do that it works fine. they tell you to ground but not as I have noted above. You're buying the cheapest one you can find, and it might act like it. I've noticed that if it is not mounted perfectly vertical, the needle will move around when you tap on the gauge face. Personally, I don't have a whole lot of confidence in it, which is of course super important if you like your transmission.Also important to note is that the sender that came with this is not a standard size. The threads are 1/8" NPT as advertised, however the sender part itself is slightly bigger. It would not fit through the bung that I welded into my transmission pan (of course I didn't test first). Take a look at the picture, you'll see what I mean about the sender being just a touch larger. Next to the one that came with this gauge is one I had laying around in the shop as well as the bung that I welded into my pan. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Installed in a 2006 Jeep Wrangler *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on October 21, 2019* I installed this gauge in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) with the sensor installed in the transmission pan in February 2017. Works well. From the drivers seat, you can't quite see the top of the gauge in the location that I put it, but I know 180* is straight up so I'm ok with that. I had it installed for about 6 months and then added a transmission cooler.
