If you are in maybe a word processor and want to select a file to open, you can right click the file, bring up the menu and click on "open". I find that after you get used to doing this, it is maybe a little faster and no chance of an error (think "drag and drop" as opposed to "cut or copy and paste").Except for this one thing about the scroll wheel, I really like the mouse. Being able to turn it off without removing the sender from the computer or keyboard or hub is a big plus for me. I've had mine for 3 months now and I really like it. **Q: is this a basic 3 button mouse? (two buttons and wheel) or is it a 5 button mouse (has two side buttons)?** A: This is a 3 button mouse with two extra features built into the scroll wheel. Push the scroll wheel left or right and it will go back or forward when surfing the internet on any browser. This is an excellent mouse in my opinion without the need for two side buttons for this feature.
