But the pastel of the pencil is harder and comes in up to 60 Pencils per "tin" **Q: How do I sharpen these?** A: You can use pastel sharpeners Eg. Derwent pastel sharpeners **Q: How would you compare these to Kohi Noor Gioconda pastel pencils?** A: Well, I have not tried the Kohi Noor Gioconda ones but I have used the Faber-Castell 60 count. I do prefer the Faber-Castell ones over these though. These one are very thick pastel and wood so it makes it a little awkward the work with. They are more for big areas of color or shading while other sets can be sharpened to a point and used more precisely. Also it is impossible to sharpen them with a regular sharpener because they are so thick. So if you do get them, look into buying whatever sharpener they recommend or I guess you could just use a knife. Overall, they are great for blending/shading but they do not include too many colors so keep that in mind. I do like them for their purpose so I would get these along with the thinner pastels like the Kohi Noor Gioconda of the Faber-Castell 60 count.
