I would like a wool blanket with no added flame retardant.** A: Good news: since mid-2019, all EKTOS wool blankets have been fire retardant free. Also of note - given that wool is naturally flame resistant - there's no need to add fire retardant chemicals to still have an extremely flame resistant blanket. Watch out for lower wool percentage blankets though as the "other fibers" are usually synthetic and tend to quickly melt when exposed to high heat or flame. **Q: What type of wool is used? Alpaca, sheep? Please help with this, I love the look but super curious.** A: This blanket is made with a mix of both virgin and recycled wools. The virgin wool mostly comes from normal Indian sheep (that live up near the himalayan mountains) and the recycled wool mostly comes from Europe (discarded wool garments that could have been made with any variety of wool types) **Q: Doesnt Harbor Frieght sell the same blanket for $10?** A: I have two of the Ektos blankets and several of the Harbor Freight ones too. The HF blankets are not even close to this one. When I weighed this blanket it it came in closer to 5 full pounds, the HF ones a little under, or at, 3 pounds. The HF blankets are 60 x 80 inches, compared to 66 x 90 inches of this one. The quality is much higher with this blanket. Nevertheless, one can buy 5 HF Blankets for the cost of one of these now. For the money, that is 15 pounds worth of wool blanket compared to 5 pounds, still making the HF blankets overall a better deal, even though there is a 10% difference in the wool mix. The Ektos blankets were $30 making them a much better value, now that they are $49... not so much. **Q: how fire resistant are these blankets nobody talks about this claim** A: These are 90% wool so they're 90% flame resistant. Wool is naturally flame resistant.
