It is badly written, needing an editorial eye, and it has very little really useful information in it. There are constant contradictions in the advice: have a plan and taking a specific list to the flower market so you don't give in to spur of the moment decisions, but be creative and you might not know what you fancy until you see it. These two points are repeated over and over. Far worse, however, are the arrangements. If you like the stumpy modern look, you may like the book more than I did. Many of the arrangements are uptight and forced, architectural in a Brutalist manner, or just short and stumpy. Personally I like a little more movement, a more natural approach. The ideas about colour seem very old fashioned, going back to the colour wheel which I think most contemporary floral designers recognise does not really take into account many of the colours they like to use. I may also have been a little put off by the touch of arrogance in the tone of the writer. I certainly would be put off going to the Flower School after reading this.
