Honestly it doesn't weigh much more than my U-Lock though. Anyway, I live in LA and this is great for when you need to make a few stops and leave your bike for a couple hours or so. At night, I store my bike in my home, so I don't worry about having to leave it out overnight. But I have been to more sketchy areas and left my bike locked with this lock, and I can say that as long as you know what you are doing, you will be fine with this lock. I make sure to wrap it through my frame and wheel and then tie it before actually locking it. As far as locking and unlocking, honestly it's not that hard.
