Review: Seems to work really well - Almost five months ago, I adopted a rescue kitty from the local shelter that partners with pet stores. I already had two cats so it's been a challenge. To be clear, they informed us he was three years old, hadn't been neutered til they got him, and that he'd been kicked at some point and was missing a tooth. We're pretty sure it was a worse situation than that, but with the help of this spray, MOSTLY, he has calmed down a lot and is unlearning the bad behaviors of his last 'home'. A home that kicked him outside for spraying, but I'm certain caused that behavior by failing to neuter along with other suspected abuse/neglect. Our newest friend is not perfect and still has a ways to go, but he has made lots of progress and I am sure this feliway spray is a huge factor in that. Every time I've gone ~48 hours without spraying, all three cats are more on edge. I refused to take him back since he'd already been returned once. For what I think he went through, I am incredibly grateful this spray exists to help him adjust to our home. Yes, it worked. Spray on hard vertical surfaces on or near the new object, at nose height for your cat. Only lasts 24 hrs, so you may need to reapply. Depends on how anxious/territorial your cat is. **Q: Can you spray in your hands and pet your cat, so the product is in contact with them?** A: I think the idea is that an object (e.g, furniture, carpet, etc.) that triggers territorial marking with claws or urine acquires a soothing, familiar valence when the object is sprayed with Feliway.The synthetic pheromone scent then has a calming effect on the cat which quells the cat's urge to mark the object.
