Just line it up, pop the plunger smartly with the palm of your hand and done . . . nice, clean and straight, ready to use hanger peg. Also, many have pointed out that's it's "cheap plastic". Again, it's plenty sturdy for nailing into sheetrock and for this price point, you're not going to get stainless steel. However, it could use more documentation on how large/heavy an object it can handle. Also, the mechanism has a tendency to misfire causing the pin to either not fully come out of the mechanism or not fully go into the wall. This can leave you with extra single pins that the mechanism doesn't really handle.
