First, it is absolutely "thinner" than the original OEM filter. The old filter was at least 1 1/2" and this is about 1" so there is now loose space in my housing. Second, I am suspect as it says that it is "compatible" with my fan blower type unit, however it also says on the packaging (not online) that it is not to be used with fan blower models, only if "in line" or downstream. So I don't know what to think.
