I decided to give this one a try because it's really pretty and the right style, but at night couldn't always make out where the skinny hands were located. Bought a set of fat hands to replace them with but the openings didn't fit on the shaft. I love craft projects so I decided to see if I could modify it. I removed the hands, glued strips of black paper both on top and bottom of each hand so they would be secure, and trimmed them to shape. Then used a paper punch to cut out little circles of black paper, and glued them on the hours to make them more prominent. I also repainted the wood plain white to cover up the rustic finish, and now it's perfect. Easy to see the time now even in dim lamp light. Very happy there's no glass front which makes it easy to work on.
