Review: Great Tents, Well Priced - I have had the 4p version of this tent for a while and I decided to downsize and buy a couple more 2p tents. I have a family of 6. So with x2 2p tents and one 4p tent, we can flex based on who is camping: with all 4 kids, we can have a 2p for adults and a 4p for the kids to share (or a 2p for the boys, a 2p for the girls, and a 4p for mom and dad, if we want to go a bit heavier on gear). With an adult and two kids, we can use two 2p tents. The 4p tent is pretty big- plenty of room for queen mattress + space to move around in and store gear. But, I found it too big for when I go camping by myself + my two boys. I'd like to be in my own tent and for the boys to share a tent, so the 4p was just too much for the two young boys. I haven't yet put a queen mattress in the 2p tent (supposedly it can fit), but I imagine it's a tight fit. The tents themselves are easy to setup and do well in rainy weather. One thing I like is that they stand alone without having to be staked in, so it can be setup and then moved into position. The fly can be attached to the tent without stakes, but it does require staking down on the sides to ensure water sheds off. The 2p tent is basically just a miniature version of the 4p, but it is a little easier to setup just due to being smaller. The 2p is a lot easier to setup by yourself. The 2p is about 2.5 lbs (24%) lighter than the 4p, but the package isn't all that much smaller. If you're car camping, the packed weight and size difference is minor. The ease of setup and flexibility of having more tents you can add/remove are the primary benefits of having the 2p tents in my case. I previously used a small one-man tent for when camping by myself. Although it was lightweight, I found it very uncomfortable, not very water resistant, and it took even longer to setup. The Sundome 2p is a big upgrade and I think the extra weight is worth the added comfort and ease of setup. I've used Marine Corps 2-man combat tents before. Those tents are definitely more heavy duty than the Coleman's (and priced several times more) and are heavier as a result. But for most purposes, the Coleman should be fine. Here's a weight comparison of the tents. I always use a tarp under my tents, so I included that weight. -1-man tent (Guide Gear brand): 6.5 lbs w/ tarp -Sundome 2p tent: 8 lbs w/ tarp -USMC 2-man Combat Tent: 10lbs w/ tarp -Sundome 4p tent: 10.5lbs w/ tarp
Review: Fantastic tent. Wish it were lighter and packed smaller. - See headline. Used in Florida and Mississippi. Heavy downpour thunderstorm one night. Tent did not leak. However, I did not tie-out the rain-fly so there was a lot of rain dripping off the rainfly on to the bottom wall of the tent on the sides. I had stuff against those wall so, of course, some water seeped through. This is normal. Just saying this for other newbies. I have the navy blue 2 person version. Plenty of room just for me and some gear and even a dog. With two people in there, you better plan on stashing your gear outside. I love this tent so much. It was cheap when I bought it. Easy to setup and pack up. Waterproof. Plenty of ventilation. I wish it were lighter and packed up smaller. I think the rainfly could be a little larger but it worked. I'm tempted to replace the fiber-glass poles with aluminum poles to save some weight and hopefully be more durable. I also plan on ditching the rainfly to "save weight" but I will use a 10x10 tarp that I'm sure weighs more than the included rainfly and rainfly pole. But it's larger and you can do other things with it when it's not needed on the tent. I will also say this for other newbs. Use a ground sheet under the tent. Now, I had heard this before but didn't see the point because I cleared the ground of harmful debris that might poke through the tent before setting it up. I also made sure that water would not pool where I setup the tent. However, I later realized another benefit of using a ground sheet. A ground sheet is much easier to clean than the bottom of the tent. It helps prevent mold from establishing itself under there as well. Make sure your ground sheet does not stick out from under the tent though. Otherwise, you'll basically be channeling water under your tent.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: shipping**
A: Ships later than it states

**Q: Can you ship to Paris? how much will it dust?**
A: I live in an arid region in the Caribbean and I ordered this tent in 2016, 4 years ago.

I just opened it again last night for the first time in years and set it up in my lockdown back garden which is on the ground (more like sand here on the equator) to have a spontaneous outside camping night.

Well next to being virtually in a new bought state with no discoloration, or time induced damage the tent was virtually dustless .. I can know as I have severe allergies and hayfever.

I swear it also rooted the weeds that were growing and sweeped the back porch clean of dust&sand too.
exiting the tent I felt like I freshly showered and my clothes were folded too!
Highly recommended

**Q: waterproof**
A: Weathered a rainstorm in this tent. Is not waterproof but water resistant . Some water did go through.

If it wasn’t for a second tarp on top. Then, I would have slept in a pool of water.

**Q: stakes included?**
A: Stakes are included. They are small and should be replaced with proper stakes. Hard ground will bend them while hammering.Search Amazon for: SE 9NRC10 Galvanized Non-Rust Tent Peg Stakes with Green Stopper - these were great!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Premium quality for "bargain basement" price
*by C***G on December 5, 2018*

First of all let me say that I was very sceptical when I bought this tent, I only got it because I needed it last minute and just hoped that it would last long enough for a week's worth of camping. I was happily surprised at the build quality and the ease of use, here are some pros and cons: Pros: - Easy to set up (comes with detailed instructions, but if you've ever put up a tent before you will figure it out even without those) - Includes everything you need to make it waterproof and guard against wind and mosquitoes/pests - Plenty of places to hang a light inside - More than enough room for 2 average size adults, (I'm 6' 180lbs i could have fit 3 times comfortably with an air mattress, thankfully i didn't need to but just so you are aware it's perfect for 2) - Easy to disassemble and pack (literally takes 1 person about 5 minutes to break down and pack for travel, also comes with a carrying pouch) - Last but not least the price (less than 50 dollars including expedited shipping) In the picture above you can see my friend's tent on the left, that is also a 2 person tent but cost him nearly 500 dollars and what he got for that was a tent that does pack smaller and is lighter, but fitting 2 people in it is not easy, I tried the first night lol, never again) Cons: - I had trouble actually finding one but if i had one it would be the weight, and even that i think could have been attributed to my decision to get a 2 person rather than a 1. it is heavier than a more expensive tent and you will feel it if you are backpacking, which we were). - One more con, the pouch, nothing wrong with having one but once you unpack the tent good luck getting it back into the included pouch, a good idea, however poorly executed Bottom line; if you are looking for a cheap but durable and backpackable tent this is the one, although if you are thinking of saving weight I'd suggest a 1 person, this one will give you a good workout though and I was fine :) (we were backpacking on Isle Royale btw for 4 days so I packed and unpacked and set this up every time we stopped to camp, and had no issues, fantastic build quality for the price and well worth it in my opinion.
