How could it be that different? I have used different blenders for decades. Mostly for soup. Did I need an extra expensive one? In a word yes. This is a completely different piece of kit. I am using it mostly for blended raw veg and fruit to make easy smoothies and increase my veg intake. It can blend anything … solid lumps of raw carrot, raw ginger lumps with skin on, turmeric root, apple with skin on, broccoli stalks.. If I have a reservation I suggest you have to watch it does not pulverise everything when you want a bit of texture. And yes it is VERY noisy. So just shut the kitchen door. Jet engines are noisy by they do the job. I suggest you don’t need the fancier ‘programmable’ models. Unless you want the smaller goblets , which would be useful.
