Just record and playback. Bought it to look at some engine valves on a Cummins ISL. Went in thru the injector hole. Rotated the camera so it was pointing up and saw everything. This boroscope you can only turn the camera in two directions which kind of limits you but you get used to it. The picture quality is pretty good to where you can tell if you have an oil leak in a dark area. the camera can actually flex and turn back towards you to where you could put it in a spark plug hole and be able to look at the valves in the cylinder head. I was able to put this camera through the inspection cover of my bell housing. I slide it up between the flex plate and back of the engine to be able to check the oil galley plugs on the back of the engine for leaks.
