I've used a lot of different beard leave-in conditioners. Most of them I find to be heavy and waxy. I read about this product and claims that it didn't use any wax fillers so I gave it a try. I'll start with what I don't like, and for me personally it's the smell. It's all about the clove, cinnamon, and cedar wood. The smell was incredibly pungent upon opening the canister and applying it at first. 30 minutes later it had definitely mellowed out substantially. I could still smell it on myself all throughout the day and even the next morning, although it was faint and not incredibly off-putting even considering I'm not a fan of the smell. I will also say that it's a fairly small canister for the price. What I do like is that the product delivered on the promise of no wax fillers. From the second I started melting it on my hands pre-application, I noticed how quickly and effortlessly it thinned out. It applied nice and light. Not clumping my hair together or making my hair look wet. Nor was my beard hair greasy to the touch shortly after application or throughout the day. I also like the great softening effect it had instantly on my beard. I will also say that in spite of the small canister, it did not require much product to effectively treat my large beard. So I do feel like the volume to price point value is equal to larger canisters of different product that are filled with wax fillers that I've purchased in the past. All in all it would be five stars if I wasn't so cut off personally by the fragrance.
