There is so much more insulation in this ice chest that it keeps ice for an extended time even in the hotest weather. I like the metal latches as apposed to the rubber ones on my ole cooler and this cooler has a double seal around the lid which provides an even better seal against the outside temperature. One thing about this one is its size. It is a beast, but I think the construction makes this irrelevant.
