Tie the first button onto the thread around 6 inches from the end, thread free end onto long needle, insert needle thru Mark on one side of the cushion thru corresponding Mark on opposite side. Big need won't go thru button shank, switch to a curved small needle for that and to tie off, then change back to long needle to go through the cushion, it takes several passes.
