When it comes to titanium exhaust wrap, people may think the material is titanium. Actually, titanium is the color. There is no wrap made from titanium in the market. ARTR titanium wrap is made from volcanic rock fiber. Some sellers may list titanium-colored fiberglass exhaust wrap as titanium wrap. ARTR wrap can withstand 1800°F Direct/2500°F Intermittent Heat while fiberglass wrap can only withstand 1400F direct/2000F intermittent heat. The color of fiberglass wrap will turn to white in high temperature while the color of ARTR wrap will keep the same. This is the way to distinguish volcanic rock fiber wrap and fiberglass exhaust wrap. Please notice Before installing, please soak the wrap in water so that the fiber will not fly all around. Please wear long sleeves, gloves and mask when handling. Fiber will make you itchy and uncomfortable. Wrap will smoke and you will smell it burning off for the first hour or 2, after that the smell will gone. It isn't burning. The smoke comes from wax (there is wax in the wrap while producing). Heat cycles help set the dangerous fibers in place, otherwise, as mentioned above, it is dusty, flaky, and honestly dangerous for eyes and lung. Without heat cycles to bake the fibers in place, it would never stop shedding. NOT a good idea. **Q: So is this true Titainium wrap, or just fiberglass with crushed lava rock in it?** A: Titanium is the color. The material is lava rock fiber. Lava rock fiber makes skin itchy like fiberglass but the color will not fade. Thank you. **Q: Is this alright to use internally around a motorcycles exhaust baffle to suppress noise or would a ceramic fiber be better for that kind of job?** A: everybody should do this on their bike .....thanks **Q: Are the metal ties long enough to go around 2.5" exhaust pipe.** A: Yes.
