I mean 4 straight days 24hrs non stop. I normally parked the truck around 4pm and I won't move again until the morning the next day around 9:00am. But not the ice cream which sole purpose was to keep my sugars from droping or as a emergency supply for that purpose. The ice cream stayed soft and melt I don understand why and really didn't careIt much. It will freeze sodas or beers making direct contact with the internal walls of the fridge but not in the center of it, nor the bottom of the fridget, so be aware of that. Other than that it was magnificent and will definetly recommend it. I only wish I knew before hand that the bigger size is only like less than $50 more, Would definetly get the bigger one next. 2 Yr Update: This little fridge freeze everything if use as a freezer. I was anle to keep all camping meat and ice cream for 7 days frozen and the rest of the food and drinks which I kept on top cold. Or standard 2 prong us ac adapter?** A: My Alpicool C12 Mini Portable refrigerator/freezer came with a DC plug (for the car's cigarette lighter) and an AC adapter that plugs into the same spot on the refrigerator unit; that AC adapter uses a standard 2 prong US AC cable (it is not grounded). **Q: What is the difference between the K series and the C series?** A: K is newer, has a led light. **Q: What is the freezer compartment useful for? Can you make ice with it for drinks? Does it come with an ice tray?** A: It keeps things cold, very cold, if you want. It does not come with an ice tray, but it will certainly make ice, if you put water in it. **Q: can it still operate while your car is off?** A: Yes, and it will NOT kill your battery...but please read. 1) You will need a 12V outlet that stays on even when the ignition is off. Almost all cars have at least one outlet that is always live. In some cars you may need to enable the feature. If you can't find an outlet that stays live, check your car's owner's manual or call your dealer before doing anything else. 2) Another option is to find an unused 'accessory' line coming from your fuse block, or add a FUSED wire to your car's fuse block. You need to make sure your fuse is the FIRST thing attached to the fuse block. Do NOT attach any wires DIRECTLY to the battery -- this is quite dangerous and could cause a fire. 3) The unit will not kill your battery (unless you want it to!). It has three different voltage threshold settings for "Low Battery Cut Out". The default setting will always leave you with enough battery capacity to start your engine, but it can be raised or lowered for different applications -- for example in a boat with a dedicated "house' battery. It would be a good idea to get your battery tested before leaving your car for long periods with the refrigerator plugged in. 4) The running time you get before the fridge goes into LBCO (turns off automatically) depends on (a) the size of your battery measured in amp-hours, (b) the ambient temperature inside the car and (c) the temperature you set for the fridge. With a normal sized car battery in good condition (60-80 amp-hours), you should be able to keep food at 40-45 degrees for at least a full day if the temperature inside the car is below 80 degrees. Bottom line, the more the compressor has to run, the more quickly it will reach the LBCO cutoff threshold. It cools fast and maintains temperature. It actually does a better job than my RV, so we'll put critical items in this while traveling until we're set up. It doesn't make much noise and hasn't been too sensitive to position. I got this one as it has actual handles which makes carrying it much easier, especially when it's loaded up. Some of the other ones have those little nubs on the side which are a PITA! My only complaint is that I wish it was a tad taller, I can not fit a 12 oz bottle in it upright and shut the lid. Cans are fine, but it is just a smidge too short for bottles and I didn't want the larger one because of the handles.
