Instead they say "borosilicate technology." 2) The website description says BORON AND TEMPERING (boron is borosilicate, tempering is soda lime). 3) They sell for around $16 (way lower than what true borosilicate should cost). This, along with the fact that the glass is so thick leads me to beleive they are a mix of borosilcate and soda lime. True borosilicate products use thin glass to minimize the expansion between the inner and outer layers, while soda lime glass is made thicker to be stronger and less likely to break. The great thing about borosilicate is it cracks when it expands too much, but soda lime explodes like a grenade. The mix of products should also explode, which is what I was trying to avoid by buying what I thought was 100% borosilicate. **Q: Does this come with a lid?** A: No **Q: can you use this in the broiler?** A: Yes. We use it in the broiler. **Q: A comment on another site indicates the 13" by 9.75" actually measures 12" by 8." Can you verify and also measure the depth?
