Instead of buying individual utensils, this set had just about everything he needed to get started, all at a great price. The black silicone with the wooden handles gives the set a modern look that makes a college kitchen feel a little more put together. The utensils are sturdy, comfortable to use, and safe for nonstick cookware. They also clean up easily and have held up well with regular use. The only minor drawbacks are that the wooden handles should be hand washed, and the included holder is a little tight once everything is inside. Neither was a big issue for us. Overall, this is an excellent value and a perfect starter set for a college apartment, first home, or anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen without spending a fortune. I would definitely buy it again.
