What happens is that where your needle eye has bent the thread it will fray the thread and cause it to make pulling the thread through the material a bit harder. I find that using about 18" is the best length to use at one time. If you do cross stitch you should not have this problem, because the material is looser.

**Q: Can yoy burn this thread**
A: I think it would either melt or wilt.

**Q: Would this be good for couching?**
A: It could work, depending upon the circumstances. It does tend to shred and shed tiny bits, so I would suggest using as the under thread and using something else to stitch it down. You’d have to test it with the fabric. A tightly woven fabric will result in more shredding and shedding.

**Q: Would this floss be good to make Tassels ?**
A: In my personal opinion this floss would not make a good Tassels. It separates easily and does not knot well the metallic pieces separate

These flosses are great colors, the metallic sheen is pretty good. However, they untwist at the drop of a stitch! This can be a problem or not, depending on what you're using them for. I'm singling out individual threads already so not too much of an issue for me but if you're using the whole strand for embroidery it could be a big pain in the butt. I think , though, that the colors are worth the effort!
