A: YES, THE CASSETTE IS OK.
But the controls are 11-speed or 12-speed.
If the controls are 11 speeds, he will not be able to use all the gears on the cassette

A: No it will not fit a standard freehub. You need the Shimano Microspline fitting to use the 11 speed cassettes.

**Q: Is this compatible with a Shimano SLX RD-M7100 SLX 12-speed rear derailleur, single?**
A: Yes it would be fine with the M7100 rear mech.
