Some of the other ones I purchased call for more expensive ingredients -- which can be hard on the pocket, even if they're tasty. Lucy's SCD cookbook is more reasonable, and includes one recipe from Elaine Gottschall (who helped spread the word about the SCD, and Dr. Haas, who developed the diet).It didn't take hours for me to prepare (the majority of) meals from this book. Recipes (for the most part) didn't ask for extravagant ingredients. I like that it's tiny, spiral-bound and easy to flip through to find a recipe while cooking. I've already made several recipes from the book (all in one day). I've already made the Eggplant and Vegetable Lasagna (delicious), the Italian Tomato Sauce, and the Chiles Rellenos Casserole (which reminds me of a fritatta). The price range for most recipes are down-to-earth, and affordable, which I like. And they're also tasty too.Only thing is that I wished Lucy included were some of the basic recipes (like mayonnaise, etc;). Some of her of her recipes call for mayonnaise. There is a good variety of recipes and they are easy to follow. Lucy is a long time scd veteran and has graciously provided this awesome resource to us all.
