I returned the first one because the steam jets in the front didn't work. The bottom steam holes seemed to work fine and the mop seemed ok, but was heavier than I felt it should be. When I got the 2nd one, I couldn't even assemble it because the telescoping handle was stuck and I couldn't lengthen it to assemble the floor mop. I took this as a sign of the quality and I sent this one back too. I did not buy a third. ### โญโญ not that great *by M***5 on August 8, 2012* I had high hopes for this steamer, but sadly it didn't live up to them. I read lots of reviews before buying this one, and I wish I had chosen a different one. I don't know if it is just my floors (pretty old hardwood) or what, but this was not easy to push or pull across the floor, and I am not that much of a wimp. You have to really lower the handle down almost parallel to the floor to get it to move smoothly without the head snapping into the off position, especially when pulling it back towards you. My guess is that is why so many people have a problem with the handle breaking. My handle didn't break, but that may have been because it stopped steaming about 5mo after I bought it, so the handle didn't have a chance to break first. I didn't like the pads either, they wouldn't stay where they were supposed to and kept crumpling up under the mop. Before it stopped working, it cleaned the floors pretty well, it just was not easy to use - I think my mop and bucket are easier, actually. ### โญโญโญโญ Hooray! No more mopping for me! *by N***E on May 2, 2011* I purchased a Monster Steamer after doing my research online and reading a lot of reviews on various hard floor steamers. It seemed to be the best match as far as features for price (I got on excellent deal on a refurbished model).I have two large dogs (with full-time access to a doggy door) and two cats. Needless to say, my kitchen floor gets very, very dirty very, very quickly! I have tried all kinds of various "mopping" equipment (from swiffer types to wet mops). None of these really seem to do the trick, swiffers seem to push the dirt around and not really clean and a good microfiber (the only type I will use) mop is very hard to come by. I decided to try a steam mop to see if it really could do the job. Let me just say...I wish I had gotten one of these sooner. It cut through the mud and other various floor messes on our laminate QUICK and easy. I assumed I would have to pass the Monster over the dirtiest areas (near the dog door particularly) atleast several times to even begin to cut through it...Not so. After two passes the floor was as clean as the day we had the floors installed. I also really like that the floor did not feel slick and "waxy" as it tends to do with the chemicals and cleaners I had used before. It dried quickly and smoothly. The steam also tends to "freshen" the air and the floor without masking scents. I have always used "green" prodcuts (soaps, etc.) previously as well and the steamer is as green as it gets!My only complaint with the machine is that the cable is very thick and hard to wrap with the provided "cable wrapper" on the handle. The handle does seem a bit flimsy as mentioned in other reviews too but not as bad as I was expecting. I briefly tried the carpet sledge and although it did seem to "puff" up the carpet a little bit, it didn't pull up as much dirt and grime as I was hoping it would...but I will try it again in another area to really see what I think of it for sure. I bought this primarily for my hard floors anyways so the carpet thing was just a bonus!If you are trying to decide about getting a steam mop or not I would highly recommend one.
