I do spray a little Pam on mine before using. The eggs slide very easy either way. **Q: Can this be used to poach only one or two eggs at a time, rather than having to use all four egg cups?** A: Yes, you can poach just one or two eggs at a time. Make sure you keep the empty cups in their space so you don’t get extra steam over the eggs you are cooking. The extra moisture will make a bad egg. By the way, this is the best poacher I have ever used...Enjoy! **Q: What size is the pan for the 4 egg versus the 6 egg?** A: I have the 4 egg pan which is 8.5 inches across. The 6 egg pan is described as being 8.5 as well. I assume this is possible because the egg cups are closer together. It looks that way in the picture too. Hope this helps. By the way I love mine. **Q: Can you only use this to poach eggs or can you use it as a pan?** A: You can also use the pan as a small sauce pan. It is stainless steel though so you have to be careful not to burn anything in it as it could be hard to clean.
