Review: Great in different weather conditions, easy to use to set code & re-code when needed. - We have bought these for years. We find them easy to code & re-code. We mostly use them outdoors in a marine environment, and have had to replace one or two at that location over the years. For the most part, they are great in that element (rain/wind/salt water air), with minimal corrosion, and very rarely lock up. Indoor use, we have no issue with them, and appreciate the heft & caliber of the metal is great.
Review: feels heavy in hand - feels heavy duty, like it has some weight to it. roller can be a little tricky but overall, I think it's a good lock. my only complaint is the little rubber cover on the bottom does not stay on very well. would buy again

**Q: i need a lock for outdoor shed and its getting hard to read because of tarnishing. does this tarnish and/or fade over time?**
A: The  Master lock is a piece of junk (my opinion) the first thing that fails is the cover on the bottom. The best lock for the job is the Sesame combination lock. They are easy to read and last for years. Good luck.

**Q: Is this lock as easy to pick as the 175 series? I want to buy it but if it's anything like the old series it is not very safe.**
A: I never picked a lock but I do not recommend this lock due to the difficulty changing combinations. Big thumbs down.

**Q: Is it weatherproof**
A: The question "Is the lock weatherproof?". Yes and no.  In my opinion nothing is weather proof, but I have a few of  padlocks and this one is outlasting the others.  No signs of weathering, or malfunction with freezing weather, raining weather and 100^ direct sunlight.  Only thing I do to the locks  is a little oil every couple years. So is it weatherproof I can't answer but it is a strong solid lock.

**Q: Is this lock coated or laminated and does it prevent scratching of painted surfaces?**
A: The lock case is hard metal that is powder coated and a rubber bumper is around the case that helps prevent the lock from damaging the surface of the door.

I purchased this lock for a Second backyard gate I didn't use. Locked it and walked away. 1 Year later, I came back to the gate and was surprised to see this amount of rust on the lock. Also, the protective Rubber door on the bottom was open. It did not stay shut. The lock still functions fine and unlocked without any issues.
