Review: Great reusable alternative to disposable air activated heat packs - Been using these regularly for about nine months with no issues. They heat up quickly once activated and give about 30 to 45 minutes of heat depending on conditions. I usually use them on my lower back for pain caused by spina bifida. I have also used them on my abdomen for menstrual cramping and tenderness. They can get very hot in the beginning so I do not recommend placing directly against skin. I put them in a sleeve from the air activated packs. To reset I wait until I'm down to my last two. I used to boil them individually, but now I put them all in one big pot. Takes about 7-10 minutes to reset to liquid, but the cool down for actual use is closer to 45 minutes to an hour. Pros: 1. Reusable 2. Quick heating 3. Portable Cons: 1. Cool down time after boiling 2. Activator badge can be tricky to get right at first Tips 1. Use a bandage wrap or heat pack holder to secure in place for areas like back, abdomen, arm, leg, etc. 2. While resetting make sure pouches are completely before removing from water or else they will crystallize and need to be boiled again. 3. Massage the pouches while activating. This makes them less hard and feels like heat lasts longer.
Review: Short Heat - Ok, these little babies absolutely work as advertised. Pop the little metal tab, everything gets warm firm, boil to get them back in the liquid state. Repeat. I can not speak to their durability but I bought them knowing exactly how well they functioned. The biggest drawback is that they last for about 30 minutes. They will say warm longer but the heat really dissipates after 30 minutes or so. I knew that going in so it was fine for me. Where do I use them? Well, when I'm cold in the winter, I pop one in my pocket. And for early Spring/Fall fishing when it's really cold in the mornings. Outdoor events where I can bring a bag of some sort because I'll need more then one to get me through the event if it's over an hour. Overall, a good buy and they've help up pretty well so far. Pro Tip: When you boil them for "recharging" don't dump the hot water when you're done. Let the units sit for a minute or three. If you didn't boil them long enough, they will immediately start to re-crystalize. It happened to me a few times and it really annoyed me having to get more water to start the whole process over. Boil them, let them sit for a few minutes and if they stay liquid, you're good-to-go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long does the heat last?**
A: Thank you for your question. The duration of heat depends on the condition in which the heat pack is activated. Overall, it should last between 30 and 45 minutes. For example, if you are going to be using it outside in extreme cold, we recommend carrying it inside a coat or pocket. The colder the starting temperature of the heat pack, the more energy it will required to heat up and ultimately affect the length of time the product stays warms. We hope this answers your question!

**Q: Could I use it to keep my food warm in my lunch box?**
A: Safe holding temperature for hot food is min 140F. These only get to 130F and reviews say they last an hour or less. In short, I wouldn't recommend them for keeping food warm. Look into vacuum bottles, such as Thermos for food safe options.

**Q: How many times can these be reused?**
A: Our heat packs are built for durability and longevity so there is no limit on the number of times you can reuse our heat packs. If you encounter any issues please reach out to us directly at info@hottogoheatpacks.com and we promise to do our best to resolve your issues. Thank you for your question.

**Q: I'm looking for heat packs to use in my wetsuit while scuba diving. Would these work?**
A: We use heat packs like this one all the time while diving. In fact, I was looking them up to buy more for that purpose.

Our typical use is to warm students hands between dives, but we have used them in wetsuits. As Amy pointed out, it's best not to put them directly against the skin, but they work well over a dive skin and under the wetsuit. They also work in a dry suit, but again, not directly over the skin. But between dives, when your hands are wet and getting cold int he breeze, they are amazing!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice, but don't last as long as advertised
*by A***R on December 26, 2019*

I bought these as stocking stuffers for my wife and kids and I'll say upfront that I'm pretty happy with them. Positives...All 4 packs seem to work as expected and none of them had already "activated" in shipping. They heat up quickly and at their hottest, feel warmer than those cheap throw away ones...I say feel because I haven't actually tested the temperature. Boiling to "recharge" them was no big deal and I like that they can be used repeatedly as I try to avoid creating needless garbage when I can and the throw away ones are needless garbage. They are made of a thick plastic/vinyl material and while I'm sure I could rip one open...they don't feel cheap. On the downside...Like some other reviews have mentioned, the initial activation took a few tries to get it going and I was worried that they were duds. But we just kept trying and they eventually started. On subsequent uses they seem to trigger right away. So I'm sure it just has something to do with breaking in the activator. If you have trouble getting them to start, just keep clicking the little metal disc and it'll eventually go (probably). Also, I wouldn't say they really last as long as advertised. 30 minutes on the larger size is about the max and probably 20 minutes on the smaller size. When started, they quickly hit their peak heat output and then slowly start to taper off. I'm wondering if they might last longer if they were wrapped in something? Not sure on that but I'll probably see if I can figure something out. But yeah, overall they are nice and I'm happy with the purchase.
