## Overview

The Stedman PS101 is a professional-grade pop filter featuring a patented metal mesh screen and a 13-inch flexible goose neck with an adjustable clamp that fits all standard microphone stands. Designed to direct plosive air downward rather than dissipate it like nylon filters, it enhances vocal clarity and mic proximity. Built for durability and backed by a lifetime warranty, this USA-made accessory is a studio staple trusted by audio pros worldwide.

## Description

The Stedman Proscreen 101 uses the same unique patented metal screen as the PS100. The Proscreen 101 has an attached 13 inch flexible goose neck with adjustable clamp. This clamp allows the PS101 to be attached to any microphone stand or boom while allowing easy positioning of the screen with the flexible goose neck. Like the PS100, the Stedman Proscreen 101 can be cleaned with detergent and hot water and will outperform and outlast fabric filter designs. Includes a lifetime warranty. Made in U.S.A.

Review: Don't waste time with nylon pop filters when the Stedman is all you need. - This is one of those rare products that exceeds all my expectations. Sometimes audio equipment is a matter of purchasing something and hoping it solves your problem. The Stedman PS101 outperforms all the nylon pop filters I've ever used and all the other wire mesh pop filters. The PS101 is well-made and feels like a quality product. The mesh grill is sturdy and doesn't feel like it will bend accidentally. The flexi-arm is strong and doesn't sag like cheaper pop filters I've used. The clamp will fit all standard mic stands and booms. Where nylon pop filters work by hoping to dissipate the air from plosives, the PS101 works by directing the air downward, away from the microphone. And it works well. If you put your hand below it on the far side and blow into it, you can feel the air being directed downward toward your hand instead of forward. It improved the quality of my recordings by allowing my plosive-prone vocalist to be closer to the mics. I no longer have to put the mic slightly off-axis in the hope of avoiding direct plosives. I can even get up close to my ribbon microphone, which is *extremely* sensitive to plosives. I previously used two nylon pop filters in sequence and placed the ribbon mic off-axis. I had hesitated for a couple of months to purchase this, wondering if it was worth the extra $20-25 over the price of regular pop filters. It is and I wish I had pulled the trigger long ago.
Review: The standard when it comes to pop filters - These are a staple in recording studios. Excellent quality and build. Would highly recommend.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: if i hang my mic uspide down with a hodling arm, should i connect this pop filter upside down too, or it doesn't matter?**
A: Do not connect the PS101 upside down. It's designed to drop your breath down before it hits the mic. Upside down it would draw your breath right into the mic defeating it's purpose.

**Q: Whats the difference between this pop filter and the VOX pop stop microphone filter**
A: I use the Stedman and was not aware of the VOX filter. The Stedman is about three times as expensive. Both are superior to cloth or nylon filters in terms of durability as they are made of metal. I assume the VOX redirects the airflow away from the microphone as the Stedman does but I did not see in the VOX description where it explicitly says this. I have read that airflow redirection is sonically superior to mesh screens but I have no personal experience in this regard. A few VOX users stated that they had issues with the gooseneck holding its shape. I have had that problem with the Stedman but to such a small degree that it is of no consequence.

**Q: how does this clip on to a stand?**
A: The right-angle clamp at the bottom has a tightening screw to help it fit on most any size mic stand.

**Q: Does it's pop filter fit on a stand?**
A: Yes. It will mount to a boom arm or a mic stand.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The standard when it comes to pop filters

These are a staple in recording studios. Excellent quality and build. Would highly recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My favorite out of all the ones I’ve tried
*by A***R on February 19, 2020*

Sturdy build, works very effectively. I’ve tried fabric versions but this one seems more effective at limiting plosives. It redirects forceful breaths instead of buffering them. It does have to be positioned correctly in order to work best (not difficult). I have to be much less careful with technique with this... even with my most sensitive mics. Easier to read script through/around as well. Highly recommended.
