The "Dark Tournament" saga felt a lot like a Dragon Ball Z adventure, with characters screaming challenges, ramping up their powers, and punching each other through stone walls. And like Dragon Ball Z, the tone was light enough that no one really minded if characters who were killed in action didn't stay dead. But as the new "Black Chapters Saga" story arc gets underway, the tone of Yu Yu Hakusho grows darker and more violent: humans are being tormented and slaughtered, not just bizarre-looking demons. Koenma summons Yusuke to resume his duties as Spirit Detective. Humans in one part of Tokyo have be manifesting strange and dangerous spiritual powers, including creating weird alternate dimensions or "Territories."
