Perfect for de-soldering parts from a pc board, as long as the parts are thru-hole. kind of wide for small diameter closely spaced parts. It works fairly well when i trim the wick to a wedge shape at 45 degrees. takes some practice to get it right but it will pick up the solder. Narrow tips on soldering iron work best when you turn up the heat and get in and off the part as quickly as possisble.
