## Questions & Answers

**Q: can I operate 2 televisions off of 1 cable box**
A: I have a TV and cable box in my man cave and HDMI ran overhead to a TV in adjoining exercise room. I have an HDMI splitter in the man cave. I want to simply be able to use the cable remote from the man cave TV to change channels from the exercise room, going through one wall. I'll just take the remote to whichever room I'm in. Do I need anything else other than this item. I couldn't ask all this in the questions, maybe someone will see this answer, sounds similar. I'm already operating 2 TVs off a single cable box with a splitter but want to use the remote in both rooms.

**Q: Does this work with FIOS 7xxx HD DVRs?**
A: It works perfect with va comcast DVR. So I magazine other DVRs will work. You'll have to find the right spots to place the 2 sensors for best performance. The only device that the infrared device doesn't work well with is an older Sony reciever I have hooked up. I only get volume control with this.

**Q: I wired CAT 5 in the wall for my IR repeater to the audio equipment in another room. Could I still use this even though the input uses a 3.5mm cable?**
A: Here's what I did. 1. Cut the plug head off the 3.5mm cable leaving about a foot of cable left on the plug (you'll use this later). 2. Strip the red/white/black cables that inside the 3.5mm cable on the receiver side and the plug side.3. Strip the Cat5 on each end. You'll use 3 of the small Cat5 wires.4. Attach red/white/black cables to Cat5 (I connected red to green, white to green/white, black to brown). Use the same 3 cables on each end (receiver side and plug side) Of course don't let the wires touch once installed and secure with electrical tape.5. Plug it in.I originally tried to bypass the plug and use the 4 screws in the amp...that didn't work. Using the steps above has proven flawless for me. Hope that saves you a headache.

**Q: Will it work if I place the ir receiver under my plasma tv? My tv is mounted over the fire place, and I was going to place the receiver on the bottom**
A: I had it placed like this for a while but found that I had to angle my remotes more than I wanted to. I wound up sticking it to the front right underneath the TVs IR receiver and secured it with double sided tape and used electrical tape to secure the cable along the back of the tv.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Remote Control Receiver Kit
*by on Reviewed in the United States May 6, 2026*

I purchased this so I could control my SONY AV receiver from my theater room when the receiver is mounted behind a wall in the adjacent utility room. It works great, and is easy to install. All you need is a power source near buy, connect the IR sensor & mount it somewhere in your room, then connect the transmit cable & mount one or more of the IR emitters near the sensor on your receiver. You don't have to be too terribly precise on how close to your AV sensor you mount the emitter. I even tried just dangling one near the front of my AV receiver, and it worked just fine. I believe this will be compatible with most remotes and receivers, but I didn't take the time to study all of them. Oh, and you can connect multiple remotes to multiple IR receiver devices, so it is pretty handy if you are stuck with more than one remote with audio/visual equipment that is not in the same room.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great

Needed to solve a problem with a senior who couldn't point their remote in the general direction of the TV. Or practically put it up against the TV screen. Ugh.So sometimes the cable box wouldnt turn on. Or the sound bar... So it would be a frustrated senior. And phone calls to...me that I broke the TV.Solved the problem by using this unit's receiver right near the TV's IR receiver. Told them to point the remote at the corner of the TV. And we locked down the controls for the sound bar and the cable box in a cabinet. And ran the wiring from this unit to those inside the cabinet..Problems. Solved. Works every time. Happy senior. Happy me.Only minor complaint is the adhesive on the emitters is a little weak. First warm day and they slowly drooped off. Easily rubbed the stock adhesive off by hand. Replaced with high strength clear tape that you can get from a big box home store. A little fussy with some devices to find the IR receiver on the front (cable box) and despite what the internet said, the cable box receiver wasnt where it was suppose to be and couldnt be seen even with a strong flashlight. Solved the problem by best-guessing the locations and applying 2 emitters to the front of the cable box. You'll have quite a few wires to manage (including a power block)if you have a lot of devices you want to hook up. But small price to pay for a very good value unit that has worked well for months now.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great So Far!
