The handle is comfortable and the rope is a nice quality. However, the "locking" covers for the top and bottom of the leashes are just for looks. 5 minutes into the first walk, both were dislodged from their spot and the "lock" had fallen off and was lost. So now I have these floating pieces of plastic on each leash. For the $$, a 2-pack, these leashes do the job... but advertising the "locking" mechanism is false. I was worried at first if the leashes were stitched well... but they seem to be ok there. We needed back up leashes for our cane corso and pit-bull. These are strong enough to keep them from chasing farm cats when we walk and the price was perfect. The foam handle really helps with gripping when they try to take off and my doggos are strong AF.
