Finally put it in and couldn't be happier. It has a regular three prong plug, which we put in an outlet in the attic. If this one fails 4 screws and a new one and I'm running again. We put in rubber washers in between the fan and the studs. Really keeps the vibration and noise down. Much quieter than my old one. You can still hear it, but very acceptable. This thing moves air. My house is 4-6 degrees cooler just by the amount of hot air getting pulled out of the attic. I'm sure it will help on the electric cooling bill. Well worth the money. Would buy again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very good attic fan *by J***X on Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2019* I replaced a hard-wired attic fan that kept dying after only a couple years. I'm sure if I went through all the effort to get up into the attic, take the motor out, clean and lubricate it and re-install it each year it might last longer, but that's not a fun job and requires dealing with electrical hard-wiring which most people have no business doing.This fan comes with an amazing warranty and generally seems much more high quality than the other one. Best of all, it's not hard-wired so if I need to I actually CAN take it out and maintain it without messing with electrical wiring which can be a liability, or very expensive to hire an electrician for each year.If it lasts the 15 years that it's warranted for, it's a steal even at what seems like a higher price than its competitors.The sound is noticeable when it kicks on, but just a dull hum that you forget about pretty quickly. I bought some small insulating pads to put between any parts that might touch the wall, and I think that likely helped a lot with the noise. Aside from some screws, that was the only thing I had to purchase separate from the fan. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Moves a great amount of air and cools the attic...However, its loud. *by J***K on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2019* I've attached photos of the before and after attic temperatures, using this gable fan. One was taken the day before install, and one the day after. Both days had highs in the high 80's in Central Florida.The installation was very easy. You simply plug the fan into an outlet. It came with about 20 ft of cord, which was more than enough for me.Post installation, the attic was much cooler, and our A/C use definitely went down slightly (monitored our Nest usage). The fan uses 250 watts, so it's still to be seen whether it will save us enough A/C use to outweigh the energy use. However, I'm betting it'll be slightly better.The only thing that I don't like about the fan is the amount of noise. Even following the noise reduction techniques laid out in the install manual, it can still be heard through 2 ft of blown insulation, in the rooms below. It's a low humming fan noise, so it's not too intrusive, just noticeable.Overall, it gets 4 stars for ease of installation, and definitely performing above the competition for attic air flow/cooling.
