## Description

The OXO Good Grips Silicone Ice Tray is a kitchen essential for making uniform, fresh and easy to remove ice cubes. The Tray itself is made of flexible silicone, making it a cinch to remove cubes. It is supported by a plastic base, which supports the tray during filling, transport to the freezer and storage. The cover also protects ice from absorbing unwanted freezer odors and allows multiple trays to be stacked on top of one another. These handy trays are available in multiple sizes to create large cubes, small cocktail cubes and festive X and O shaped cubes!

Review: Superior to old school trays - I wasn't sure about spending $13 on an ice cube tray, but it's been so well worth it. Enjoying an ice cube tray this much is full on adulting. I've been using a set of basic 12-cube trays that are mostly plastic with just the bottoms of the cube portion made of silicone. They were annoying though because the plastic had cracked, I was always spilling the water the in freezer or didn't have enough room in the freezer. The size of the cubes are perfect for me, not too large, not tiny. I love that this cube tray is so much more compact, so you only need a little space in the freezer and can even set other items above or below it. I was skeptical about the cover really preventing spillage, but I haven't had any issues and already made about 8 batches of ice. I love how sturdy it is and that it comes with 2 trays (and unlike my old ones, I don't have to precariously balance these to avoid the top tray falling into the bottom one). While all the ice doesn't fall right out, I don't find it that difficult to get the cubes out. Even with my old basic ice trays, I had to bang, dig and fight to get half the cubes to come out. With this one, it's usually just a few around the edges that take a few extra seconds to push out. This is truly a great design for a cube maker and should become the standard for all ice trays.

**Q: Why can't I get the ice cubes out without manhandling the silicone trays?**
A: I had the same issue.... needless to say I no longer own those ice cube trays.  They were more work than they were worth.

**Q: Are the ice cubes made from these considered mini cubes or just a little smaller than regular cubes?**
A: They are about the size of a standard sugar cube. I would consider them to be mini cubes. We have fresh citrus and I freeze it with these for use later in homemade salad dressings etc. Hope this answer helps you.

**Q: how many teaspoons per cube?**
A: A little less than 2 full tsp per cube

**Q: Dish washer safe?**
A: Seems to be. I never use heated dry, though, so can't comment on the plastic part in that setting.

The ice is a good size and pops out very easily, I remember the plastic ice cube trays were always hard to pop out but this is no issues. And this makes a lot more ice than the plastic ones. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality, small compact silicone ice trays ...

I looked at some of the other cheaper silicone ice trays and decided to spend a bit more on a brand that I'm familiar with due to the features it had that the others didn't. And I'm glad I made that choice. Cheaping out on this would have been a mistake. PROS: Because it's silicone, these types of trays (in my opinion) from what I've read need support and this one has it and it's very well designed. There are two ice trays in this one holder, one tray made specifically as the bottom tray and the other the top tray. The holder is durable and solid, with a lid that actually works and does what it's intended to do. It's very compact and goes easily into even the smallest places in your freezer. Because it has a lid *and* a solid bottom, you can stack stuff on it or put it on top of something else (as long as it lays flat). The lid helps prevent spills but is not completely leak proof so you don't want to go tumping it around. It makes very nice small square cubes but if you use a lot of ice, you'll want to get 2 sets of these trays. CONS: This is my first experience with silicone ice trays so I'm not sure if all silicone trays are this hard to get the ice out of, or if it's just this model. Of course, if you let it sit out for about 15-20 minutes, it's easier but sometimes I don't have the time to do that and I need the ice out of the tray pronto. There have been quite a few times where I have to try and peel the tray back from the cube and fight with it to release from the tray, especially the corner pieces. The cubes don't just pop right out when you twist the tray like it does with traditional plastic trays, you have to work at it to make them come out. So not a good fit for someone with arthritis, unless you have the time to let it sit out and melt a bit before you try and take the cubes out. It can get a bit frustrating. Basically these trays have all the features that I wanted in a silicone tray and it's well designed with high quality materials. The only thing I think they could make better is to have the tray release the cubes more easily.
