These are the compact models w/ 3in barrels ...will this grip system fit?** A: Yosef, that is a compact frame and it will NOT fit. The problem is not the barrel length but the shorter grip panels. The grip area/magwell is about a half inch sorter that a standard full sized framed 1911. **Q: will this fit a taurus pt 1911?** A: Yes it does; fits my Taurus PT-1911, however you will have to use a file or preferably a dremel to file down a section (facing towards the gun/unseen) that will come in contact with the lower right side of the ambi-safety lever. There is an indentation there but you'll need to file a deeper groove to free up the lever once you have the attachment securely fastened. If you're careful no one will ever know you had to file it and the side that faces the user is untouched. I'm going to preface my next statement with, "Some people just don't know". Therefore, please do not buy this if you have the Taurus 1911 with the picatinny rails already built onto the frame of the gun. This system will not bolster the picatinny rail that's already on the gun and it will not fit at all. This is made for 1911 platforms that DO NOT have a rail system. Just throwing that out there. **Q: Will this fit my Sig 1911-22?** A: The SIG 1911-22 is built as a full size 1911, so yes. It will fit perfect. **Q: any chance it will fit a 3913 or 3914 s&w** A: No. Both the 3913 and the 3914 are not exactly the same shape as a 1911, full size pistol. The grip is made to fit ONLY a full sized 1911, so it will not work with either of the two S&W guns you referenced. Be safe everyone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Will fit, but might take some sanding to make it happen. *by W***N on June 30, 2020* I have a Rock Island/Armscor 1911 A1-FS GI Series. I wanted to replace the wooden grips that the model came with, and selected these grips, because they provide a Picatinny Rail System, that the other grip systems do not. Before I go any further, I will say that these grips are an excellent choice for replacements. But I had to do some custom fitting. Read on. First, the top edge of the left-side grip interfered with the slide release/safety detent spring tube. Sanding that down allowed the left grip to snap into place easier. Second, on both grip halves, around the inside edge of the trigger guard, there is a raised ridge. Apparently, the gun's trigger guard is supposed to be slightly larger in order for it to fit properly around that ridge. Not so the Rock Island. The trigger guard and the ridge are the same size, interfered with each other, and prevented the two grip halves coming together. Again, sanding both ridges flat allowed both grip halves to come together properly. Last, on both grip halves, the top edges were tightly binding on the bottom edge of the slide. They were so tight that the slide would not move. Again, sanding these edges provided a clearance between the top edge of the grip halves, and the bottom edge of the gun's slide. In all, the work took about 30 minutes. And I'm completely pleased with the results. Your results may vary, and in fact, you may not need to do any of these modifications depending on the model 1911 you purchase.
