Review: Awesome! Great for Reading Kids! - This was an awesome way for my son to be able to read at night without being stimulated by the regular lights and without us having to dim the regular lights so low that it would be difficult to read.
Review: Natural adult sleep too! - Man, the wife and I love to read before bed and having a regular bulb can end up making me just feel awake. This bulb delivers a nice twilight light (it's a pretty orange-ish hue) that really doesn't interrupt my body's natural unwinding towards sleep. That was the point of this purchase and boy did it deliver! The light is bright enough to read by, or sleep by. I find it nearly impossible to fall asleep under a normal 40w light bulb. Ok, so the downside... The color spectrum of the bulb doesn't really allow for viewing things in full color. everything takes on a red-orange-amber...or black appearance. That curtailed my reading magazines in bed. Minor inconvenience, but I have plenty of novels to consume. I wish they had this when my son was a baby. It would have been a perfect addition to a bedtime ritual and skip the jolting bright light to pitch black room, or even a little bright focal point like a night light. Mom and dad can get in there and get things settled, see what they are doing, and tot can feel the natural slide towards slumber that twilight light causes in the human body. It's a little pricey, and I wouldn't try to use this in an overhead light. Just a nice table/floor lamp will do the trick.

**Q: Will this light work with an ikea night stand lamp?  is it bright enough to change diapers with?**
A: I don't know about the IKEA night stand lamp, but it is bright enough to change diapers with in most cases. I say in most cases because I've had to put on the ceiling light when my little had a blowout!

A: Hello, While the Nite-Nite Light Bulb is the perfect light to provide adequate care for the child, some of our customers feel the light emitted (close to a 40 watt bulb) is a bit too bright to leave on all night. HOWEVER, SCS will be launching a 3.5 watt version which will be perfect for a leave-on night light very soon. Stay tuned!
