Review: Good pair of sandals zero - Very comfortable I’ve bought these before they always last me a year which I’m happy with because I’m always outside working in the yard, fishing, camping or even running errands in them. Every type of sandal like this will start to smell and pull cords loosen and stretch so paracord will fix string and a diluted bleach spray works also. I just feel for about $100 it’s worth buying knowing that they will last about a year. I’ve wanted to extend wearing them another year but tbh they hold sweat and my wife throws them away because smells up our closet even after thoroughly bleaching and using fabric sprays on them but it’s not brand specific as I’ve had every pair of outdoor hiking sandals just reek of salty foot. I live on Lake Huron and wear sandals daily when it’s warm enough and my favorite are Keen, owned probably every type and brand Keen seems to be more comfortable durable and the best brand out there for sandals. For people upset about smell you can probably prolong them by using foot deodorants but tbh I could care less I’m married have a kid last thing I’m worried about is a nice smelling pair of sandals. I work in our garden in these, mow lawn chase after a toddler and these fit my lifestyle perfectly. They are well made my feet are average width for 11 1/2 shoes I buy 12 in sandals and these fit perfectly not snug or loose. Just order a half size up and you’ll be fine.
Review: Perfect comfort hiking sandal - I ordered these in preparation for a summer trip. I have had keen boots and several Newport sandals, as well as competing mid- and high-end brands, so I have a pretty good baseline for judgment. My overall review is they are great (superior, even) for the price. I spent about a month hiking through 4 national parks in WA (Olympic and N. Cascades), MT (Glacier), ND (Badlands) and MI (throughout the Upper Peninsula). Not hard core hiking up to mountain peaks, but substantial walking/hiking through trails and some rough terrain. I didn't use them in water (like you can do with the Newports), but almost as hiking shoes, often with socks. Pros: I have pretty wide feet, and my bridge is very high, so I often have trouble finding comfortable shoes. These things are super comfortable. The sole is very soft, so it bends easily. Yet, it's also rugged, so you have a pretty decent grip. The sandals are wide enough for most people, yet not extremely wide. The adjustable laces and elastic upper allow you to tailor it to your foot's width and height. Although the inner soles are a bit thin, they offer enough support for moderate hiking. Cons: I suppose the cons derive from some of the pros. When compared to the Newports and other more rugged sandals, these feel too soft. I don't know the long term durability of the sole, but I imagine that comfort has to come at a price. Other than that, I have no complaints. Overall, I think the Arroyo II are a fantastic sandal, especially if you get them for under seventy dollars, like I did. They are comfy, yet offer support and enough grip for light to moderate hiking. You can wear them barefoot or with socks. Consider them a very light hiking shoe. They seem durable enough. I think I will order a new pair when these wear out.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will these shoes do well for water sports specifically for kayaking and tubing? Looking for a versatile shoe on and off land.**
A: Yes. Only thing to keep in mind is that water will drain well, but pebbles will have a hard time working their way out without taking the shoe off. But I use these in and out of the water and love them.

**Q: If keen had a shoe like these semi sandal closed toe, which one would be best for light outdoor gardening, digging, light construction?**
A: i wear the shoes pictured here to do all of our gardening and yard work they are perfect. When you're done just hose them and your feet off

**Q: Is thw 9.5 D (M) the standard width or wide or what?**
A: I bought these for my husband in an 8.5, which he says is a good fit, though a tad roomy. He usually wears a 9.5 in a tennis shoe. He did not notice any difference in the width.

**Q: What's the weight?**
A: Using bathroom scale the weight for two shoes is 1 pound exactly. Scale dloesnt weigh finer than 1 pound. I suspect the two would be a little higher

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Keen is the best and these are great.
*by R***T on January 8, 2026*

The best all around footwear for general purposes. I do not hike in them though. They have a removable foot bed that allow use of orthopedic inserts below it which makes all the difference if you need them I have bought three pairs. All are durable and all fit perfectly. Highly recomended. Keen is the best.
